As his new year gift to the People of Bonthe District, Mainland to be specific, President Bio through the ministry of health has commissioned a cold chain store and office space.

From the speech of the president, Minister’s present and the EPI program manager, they all lavish praises on the leadership of the Bonthe DHMT, Dr. Bobson Sesay for his astute leadership and for pioneering such a vision in transforming the Bonthe District Health Management. Many recall back when he was the Medical superintendent at Bonthe government hospital (Island), wherein he helped in transforming the health facility including staff capacities.

In his speech, so many plea were put forward by the DMO to the president and the ministry of health to help capacitate the district in terms of medical hospital, staff enrollment into the government payroll, medical school, Sea ambulance, speed boats for the DHMT to help cater for supervision in the island and quarters for health personnel etc.

Commitments were made by President Bio to construct an ultramodern Government hospital in Matru Jong this year, the construction of a health facility in one of remote villages in the island(Settia), the president also asked the minister of Health to take note of the Sea ambulance etc. The president also asked community stakeholders to join hands through community lead initiative to provide quarters for health care staffs and that the community has a role to play to foster development in the district.

Various stakeholders pledge their support to help the DMO including other MDAs to push development in the district.
